Vitamin D Test (D2 & D# Blood Test)

Detects deficiencies in Vitamin D (independently monitoring both Vitamin D2 and D3 status by LC-MS/MS) as a potential cause of health problems ranging from osteoporosis to cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin D is very helpful in keeping the bones strong. In case of deficiency, an individual may suffer from brittle bones, bone pain, Back or joint pain, Muscle weakness, Being very tired and Changes in mood.

A vitamin D deficiency diagnosis is confirmed by measuring the level of serum 25-hydroxy-vitamin D. The normal level or concentration of this form of the vitamin ranges from 25-50ng/ml. Deficiency occurs when this level decreases to about 12ng/ml or less. As mentioned previously, 25-OH-D is not the active form of the vitamin. It must be converted to 1,25-diOH-D in order to cause responses in various organs of the body.
